Sound banks
Record your own keyboard, or import a bank, an SFZ instrument or a SoundFont.
The demo uses original synthetic sounds to test importing. It contains no Yamaha, Korg or Roland samples.
Supported formats and bank guide
ZIP: standard stored or deflated, up to 128 MB. Extracted samples: up to 256 MB; 64 instruments and 2,000 zones per bank. PCM WAV is recommended; other audio formats depend on your browser.
Each instrument supports root notes, key ranges, velocity layers, round robins, gain, release, and forward sustain loops in seconds. Use MIDI note numbers (60 is middle C). Gaps in the map stay silent; overlapping regions select the nearest root and then the narrowest key range.
SFZ: regions, groups, key and velocity ranges, round robins (seq_position), volume, transpose and loops, including loop points stored in WAV files. Release triggers, #include files and synthesis opcodes are skipped. SoundFont 2: presets, key and velocity ranges, root keys, tuning, attenuation and loops; stereo samples come in as one channel. Native Yamaha, Korg and Roland banks and Kontakt libraries can't be read. Import samples you have permission to use.
Put bank.json beside a samples folder. Sample paths are relative to bank.json. ZIP that folder, or select the extracted folder.
Banks stay in this browser when storage is available. Keep your source files as a backup.
Or import loose recordings: name files by note, like C4.wav, F#2_mf.wav or 60_v2.wav. Dynamics such as pp, mf and ff (or v1 to v8) become velocity layers, and rr1, rr2 become round robins. Files without a note are placed by listening to their pitch.
Detect listens to the samples and fixes names that are an octave off.
